Bookstore:

The Trident is not currently hiring booksellers. We are always open to friendly book-lovers interested in sharing their passion for reading with the Greater Boston community and beyond. We welcome people of all backgrounds and walks of life to our staff. The bookseller is a front-facing customer service role responsible for tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Customer assistance in person or over the phone
  • Managing the register
  • Receiving/stickering small shipments while at the register
  • Shelving 
  • Processing special orders and online orders
  • Event set-up/assistance
  • Pulling returns and assisting with reports 
  • Writing staff picks
  • Merchandising and tidying the store (all products, including books, gifts, games & cards)

They must also be able to lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 lb, and be comfortable working on their feet for up to eight hours. The Trident is not currently hiring Shipper/ReceiversThe role of the Shipper/Receiver is to process all retail inventory coming through the store, including, but not limited to, books, gifts, magazines, and cards. This is not a public-facing position. The shipper/receiver must be able to perform all tasks related to shipping and receiving, including but not limited to:

  • Receiving incoming inventory in the POS system
  • Lifting and moving boxes of books and gifts. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Sorting boxes by publisher/vendor, and marking all shipments with the date and order number
  • Stickering books and merchandise
  • Sorting titles for special orders
  • Processing all publisher returns

The ideal candidate is comfortable working on focused tasks, detail-oriented, organized, and efficient. Flexibility is also important, as evening, weekend, and holiday availability are essential. This position requires a commitment to be available during the two weeks leading up to December 24th, and we can offer both full-time and part-time hours. Full time positions come with benefits.
